Cornerstone pairs a research practice with a family of dedicated vehicles. Cornerstone Lab designs and validates equity strategies; each strategy that completes the Lab's validation is deployed through its own dedicated vehicle. Cornerstone S.R.L. is the first of these. Cornerstone works with family offices and private investors seeking equity exposure governed by a defined process rather than a manager's discretionary conviction.
Cornerstone Lab is the research arm. It sources ideas from academic literature and original intuition, schematizes them into testable specifications, backtests them, and holds each candidate to evaluation on data it has never seen before any capital is committed. The Lab is human-led and machine-assisted: automation carries the repetitive work, so that scarce judgment is reserved for the two decisions that create value: what to explore, and whether to deploy or discontinue.
The first strategy to clear validation runs through Cornerstone S.R.L., a long-only equity strategy holding exactly 45 positions across seven sectors. Selection is governed by cross-sector ratios, with positions reviewed on factor integrity rather than price. Each position is held for 11 to 13 months; exits are driven by M&A events or a 2.5x return threshold, and absent these triggers the portfolio undergoes complete turnover each year.
Prior to deployment, the selected portfolio passes a final discretionary gate: a forensic review of the quality of each underlying holding.
Each strategy that clears validation is expected to run through its own dedicated vehicle. Cornerstone S.R.L. is the first such vehicle.
